S/4HANA Upgrade / Migrations / SAP IBP RTI
Managed the shift from S/4HANA 1909 to S/4HANA 2023, presenting the prerequisites and steps needed for the upgrade to the leadership team. Demonstrated an in-depth understanding of requirements, presented a solid strategy to the leadership team, and guided the team through the initial upgrade. Spearheaded migrations from Oracle to HANA, providing a clear roadmap and gaining approval for the smooth migration of four systems to HANA. As the Technical Architect for SAP IBP RTI (Real-Time Integration) and SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform), directed the implementation of real-time integration between IBP, SAP BTP, and S/4HANA, achieving the milestone of being the first company to go live with this integration in June 2022.
SAP Roadmaps and Plan
Assembled the SAP Technical Roadmap for Maple Leaf Foods, incorporating details on future versions, migration options, recommendations, and the anticipated direction for each product. The roadmap outlined factors driving upgrades and migrations, provided a concise overview of patches and upgrades, outlined plans for short and long-term system maintenance, discussed Proof of Concept (PoC) options, migration tools, PoC approach and systems, and included considerations for architectural concepts and database growth.
SAP ITCM
As the Technical Lead Architect, I spearheaded the seamless integration efforts encompassing SAP ITCM, SAP BTP, S/4HANA, and CRM, playing a pivotal role in propelling our company to become the inaugural adopter of ITCM. Collaboratively contributing to SAP’s technical documentation, I assisted in crafting a comprehensive resource that is now accessible to all SAP customers, further solidifying our commitment to innovation and knowledge sharing in the industry.
SAP S/4HANA Conversion
As the Technical Lead Architect for the S/4HANA Brownfield Conversion project, I was responsible for the successful completion of the project on October 11th. I implemented a standard approach that significantly reduced business downtime from 68 hours to just 17 hours, and further reduced it to 8 hours using the DOC approach. My leadership and management of the Basis, database, and Linux teams, as well as my collaboration with hardware, functional, and external vendors and SAP Architects, contributed to the success of the project. Furthermore, my efforts enabled the company to avoid the additional 6 to 8 months of work that would have been required for an ECC EHP7 upgrade prior to proceeding with the S/4HANA Conversion project.
SAP IBP / SAP BTP / SSO Implementations
As a pivotal contributor to our technological advancements, I led the successful implementation of SAP IBP, serving as the technical lead for seamless integration with S/4, APO, BW, and cloud systems IAS/IPS. Additionally, I played a key role in driving innovation by spearheading the SAP BTP implementation, crafting one of Canada’s first environments in the NEO platform. Taking charge of the entire architecture, I orchestrated the setup of Mobile Services, oData Provisioning service, Identity Authentication Service using Principal Propagation, GIT, and ensured seamless integration with S/4. In a parallel project, I undertook the roles of project manager, technical lead, and consultant, successfully executing a cost-effective Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation for all ABAP and JAVA systems, a feat previously deemed challenging due to high costs. This initiative also provided an opportune moment to implement SSL (HTTPS) across all ABAP and JAVA systems, showcasing my commitment to effective, comprehensive, and budget-conscious solutions.

I provide third-tier support for SAP systems, manage the ticket queue for Basis and Database teams, and contribute to daily administration and troubleshooting in a complex 24+ system SAP landscape. Serving as Queue Captain, I organize and oversee the ticketing process and played a pivotal role in designing the main landscape diagram for Production and Non-Production Systems.
